The Highwayman - Sheriff Hutton

Ava would like to welcome you to The Highwayman Inn at Sheriff Hutton. A traditional country pub with a warm welcome and homemade food using local produce.

Sheriff Hutton is 13 miles from York City Centre. Situated between the Vale of York and the Howardian Hills, the ruins of the 600 year old Sheriff Hutton Castle overlook the pub, which was once visited by Richard III whilst staying at the castle.

The Highwayman building you see today dates from around 1780, and is full of character with wooden beams and open fires. As well as the bar, lounge, and restaurant area, we have a family room which is available for private parties. There is also a large beer graden to the rear of the pub.

There is a selection of cask and guest ales on offer, and an extensive wine list. Our ales have been awarded the Cask Marque for quality.

Food is served every day except Monday- see here for more details.

Our opening hours are
Monday 6pm - close
Tuesday - Friday 12noon - 3pm and 6pm - close
Saturday & Sunday 12noon - close

We look forward to seeing you at The Highwayman.
